OUR MISSION
C.V.E.D.C. was organized in 1976 as
a non-profit citizen organization whose objectives are to provide
impetus for the region's economic development activity by:
- Assisting the businesses in the area that are expanding;
- Providing advisory services, education and information
to area businesses;
- Promoting Central Vermont and its resources to business
and industry contemplating new facilities in our region;
- Improving the infrastructure necessary for economic growth;
- Supporting our members in ways that will allow them to
maintain and enhance their ability to be a driving force in their
industry through contacts, technology and other resources;
- Serving
the Central Vermont area.

DEVELOPMENT COMPANY
C.V.E.D.C. is 1 of only 3
U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Certified Development
Companies in Vermont.
- A Certified Development Company (CDC)
is a non-profit corporation engaged in economic development within
the region it serves, working with the SBA and local lenders
to provide financing for small businesses through the SBA 504
Loan Program.
The 504 Loan Program
is designed to enable growing businesses to create and retain
jobs with long-term, fixed-rate financing, which is generally
1% or more below the current market rate.
Since its inception, C.V.E.D.C. has helped bring over $46 million
of capital investment to Central Vermont. More than 1200 jobs
have been maintained or created in this region alone as a result
of this investment.
Central Vermont Economic Development Corporation (C.V.E.D.C.)
serves all of Washington County and three towns in Orange County,
Vermont, which are the towns of Williamstown, Washington and
Orange.
