 The Green Mountain Transit Agency (GMTA) was created in April of 2003 with the mission of enhancing the quality of life by delivering safe, convenient and more environmentally efficient transportation solutions. |

GMTA also provides door-to-door transportation service for those who meet the established criteria for the following programs: Ticket to Ride voucher system, Medicaid, Council on Aging non-Medicaid medical transportation, PATH authorized travel and institutional reimbursed transit. In compliance with the Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), GMTA provides door-to-door transportation services for those who are unable to use the fixed route bus service. In FY06, GMTA provided 37,068 trips through chairlift equipped vans, buses, and volunteer drivers and their vehicles. |

GMTA is a full service public transportation provider offering such services as fixed route, deviated fixed route, demand response, commuter routes, shopping shuttle, Medicaid transportation and transportation services for 
the elderly and disabled. In FY06, GMTA provided 136,439 rides through its fixed and deviated fixed route service. GMTA believes that by providing this fundamental service to Washington County and the towns of Orange, Williamstown and Washington in Orange County, we support the individual in their efforts to lead meaningful and independent lives.
